Principal researches concerned with nutrition and wool growth of merino sheep, especially the influence of protein intake and minor element deficiency on the amount & character of the wool produced. Prominent in establishing that cobalt essential for ruminants. Showed that coast disease of the littoral of South Australia due to combined deficiency of cobalt and copper. Leader of a vigorous team of research workers which has solved problems hindering development of large areas of deficient territory in Australia and elsewhere. |
