CitationThe candidate has made himself one of the leading authorities in the world on infra red analysis. He has contributed largely to our knowledge of the infra red and Raman spectra of simple and complex movements. He has submitted some twelve papers of theoretical importance in this field. During the late war and subsequently he co-operated in an exhaustive examination of the spectra of hydrocarbons and more recently has developed new and sensitive apparatus for the experimental work.
