Citation | Finney, David (Oxford). Lecturer in the Design and Analysis of Scientific Experiment. Sc.D. (Cambridge). Distinguished for his work in Mathematical Statistics, especially in relation to the development of probit analysis and other methods of biological assay. He is the author of leading English text-books on these subjects. His scientific papers cover a wide field in the design and analysis of biological experiments, in human genetics and in the theory and practice of sample survey. His work is notably successful in reconciling abstract mathematical requirements with considerations of relevance to practical aims, and has consequently come to be increasingly influential. |
