Title | Linnett, John Wilfrid: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Description | Citation typed |
Citation | Distinguished for his work on the forces between atoms in molecules, and on the mechanism of initiation and propagation of flame. He has investigated theoretically the force fields within molecules and has applied the results of such work to chemical problems. He has studied the propagation of flame from the standpoint of the theory of reaction chains and has carried out new measurements on the velocity of flames. He has also made interesting contributions in the fields of photochemistry and spectroscopy. |
