Title | Baddiley, James: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Date | 16 March 1961 |
Description | Certificate of Election |
Citation | Distinguished for his researches in organic and biochemistry. Early joint work in the nucleotide field led to the first synthesis of adenosine tripohosphate. In later independent studies Baddiley contributed notably to the structural elucidation of conenzyme A, & to our knowledge of the so-called "active sulphate" and "active methionine". His recent studies in bacterial chemistry have thrown new light on the nature of a variety of active nucleotide intermediates and on the composition of the cell-wall. A list of publications is appended. |
