TitleOwen, Paul Robert: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationProfessor Owen has a high reputation in the subjects of aeronautics and fluid mechanics. He is the author of some fifty papers dealing with a wide variety of problems; his early work was namely concerned with high spec and supersonic aerodynamics, but in later years he made himself an authority on flow in the boundary layer and on turbulence. More recently he has established himself as a leader in the relatively new science of industrial aerodynamics. He is a member of the Aeronautical Research Council and Chairman of its Aerodynamics Committee.
