Description | Citation typed |
Citation | Distinguished for his contribution to the relationship of brain structure to behaviour. He has illuminated the functions of the amygdala, of the frontal and temporal lobes by animal experiments; from which have developed studies of memory defects, extending to clinical measurement in human patients. He has also clarified the residual visual functions which remain after loss of the primary projection areas, again both in animal and man. He has developed important methods for revealing pharmacological effects on behaviour, particularly for anti-depressants. |
