| Citation | Joachim Sauer has made a unique and pioneering contribution to the development and application of quantum chemical techniques to solid state, surface and catalytic science. He has developed rigorous but widely applicable procedures for modelling structures and reactivities of catalysts and adsorbents at the molecular level. His recent work which demonstrated the possibility of achieving chemical accuracy in modelling the rates of complex reactions in microporous catalysts is a landmark in the field of catalytic science. |
