Title | Rushworth, Matthew: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Date | 28 March 2019 |
Description | Certificate endorsing election of Matthew Rushworth as a Fellow of the Royal Society, including personal details of the elected Fellow and citing the reasons for election and names of proposers. Signed by the Executive Director of the Royal Society, Julie Maxton. |
Citation | Rushworth is an international authority on frontal cortex and its role in cognition. He has developed anatomically grounded models of frontal cortical function in learning, decision making, and social cognition that are based both on new minimally invasive tools devised for investigating human brain function as well as on animal models. He has related the findings of empirical studies to computational models of frontal cortical function and both approaches have been informed by comparative analyses of the connections and interactions of frontal cortex in humans and other animals. |
