Citation | Iain McCulloch is Professor of Polymer Materials in the Department of Chemistry, Imperial College, and Director of KAUST Solar Center. His research has made significant contributions to the design, synthesis and application of organic semiconducting materials for use in transistors, solar cells and biological sensing. His work has focused on understanding and control of molecular orbital energy levels in organic semiconductors, the influence of molecular functionality on polymer conformation and ordering, and the subsequent impact on thin film morphology and electrical properties. In addition, he has established new synthetic design approaches in electron acceptor materials for high performance organic photovoltaics. |
