Citation | Cathy Price is the authority on the functional anatomy of language. She is the most highly cited female neuroscientist of her generation (and among the top five worldwide). Her seminal contributions, which have shaped much of brain mapping, include the inception of factorial and parametric designs in cognitive neuroimaging, the introduction of cognitive conjunctions, the theory of cognitive degeneracy - that reconciles studies of healthy brains with lesion studies - and the concept of cognitive ontologies. Her discoveries have fundamentally changed our understanding of how the brain implements higher functions and how it responds to damage, particularly in language recovery. |
