Citation | Douglas Easton has made a unique contribution to cancer genetics over thirty years. He has led the field in the identification of breast cancer predisposition loci, demonstrating that susceptibility is determined by a combination of rare variants in predisposition genes and common regulatory variants. He has developed novel statistical approaches to define risk associated variants and the spectrum of cancer risks they confer. He has made major contributions to the understanding of predisposition to prostate, ovarian, endometrial and other cancers. He has led the field in developing comprehensive cancer risk prediction models to guide genetic counselling, screening and prevention. |
