DescriptionLetters relating to a Royal Marines assent of Mount Kinabalu in North Borneo. Dorothy Corner writes disputing the claim that the Royal Marines were the first to make this climb, believing it to be E J H Corner, on the Royal Society Expedition. Martin replies that the Marines were the first to make the climb up the North face of the Mountain which is clear from the Ministry of Defence press statement. This press release is also in the file.
