TitleCentral Brazil Expedition - visit by Royal Society delegation
Date8 August 1968 - 16 September 1968
DescriptionThe Royal Society delegation visited Brazil to discuss areas of co-operation between Brazilian and UK scientists, and some members of the delegation took the opportunity to visit the expedition, staying over at base camp for one night. The file therefore contains records which refer to the work of the delegation as well as some papers which are more specific to the expedition. It includes a letter from Iain Bishop to Dr Keay, which thanks him for his letter and for his efforts in bringing a Brazilian party to the base camp when he visited, copies of minutes, and copy of a cable to Brazil . The file also contains a report on the trip by Dr Keay which makes occasional references to the expedition [entries for the 22nd and 23rd August refer to the delegation's time with the expedition].
