Description"World Energy and Power resources" was proposed as a UNESCO discussion topic in 1950-1951.

These papers are on Simon's attendance at UNESCO meetings in Paris, October 1949, to discuss how the topic could be highlighted and promoted by UNESCO. The consist of correspondence with Prof Pierre Auger, Head of Natural Sciences, UNESCO, agendas and minutes of the Paris meetings and notification of Simon to write a paper for the UNESCO collection to promote the topic 'Energy in the Service of Man'

Other advisers at the Paris Conference included Prof Caquot (France) and Prof Stucky (Switzerland). Sir Harold Hartley was invited to attend the Paris meetings as a representative of the World Power Conference.
