DescriptionThe correspondence with JR Park primarily relates to BOC's supply of gas to the Clarendon Laboratory. Simon queries the cost of BOC's supplies of oxygen and raises the issue of the gas being offered to the Clarendon at a preferential rate.

There are also papers on Simon requesting financial assistance for the 1951 Low Temperature Conference of the Union de Physique in Oxford and raising the issue of BOC making an increased contribution to research work at Universities. (In 1954 a Fellowship endowment scheme was instituted by the BOC).

Also included is a copy of Simon's obituary for Park for 'Nature' (1952)

The file also contains some correspondence with AM Clark, BOC, (from 1946-1952), on Simon giving a talk to a BOC colloqium on "The Aproach to Absolute Zero" (1947) and on Simon requesting a cylinder of neon to measure its melting curve at high pressures
