TitleLetter from F Simon to Dr F Demuth
Date5 August 1947
DescriptionHas a rather bad conscience for not having replied to his letter of 17 June about the vacant chairs in Ankara. However, he has been thinking of suitable candidates without much success.
Wonders if he has thought of Professor Fuerth formerly of Prague who is now in Edinburgh. He understands from Born that there is little hope of him getting a good academic position here and under those circumstances he may consider it.

There is also Professor Reiche formerly from Breslau who is not too well off in America and Demuth may also consider him for physics.

Chemistry; there is Dr Kurt Coper, a former collaborator of Greundlich and Zocher. He is supposed to be a very good man; at the present moment, he is Director of a Rubber Factory in Madeira but he wants to return to an academic life. His address is; Rua do Til 53, Funchal, Madeira. Simon is sorry he cannot help more.
