Description | Dale was Biological Secretary of the Royal Society, 1925-1935. In December 1926, the Royal Society was invited to submit a memorandum on a sub-committee, established under the Government's Committee of Civil Research. The purpose of this sub-committee was 'to consider the co-ordination of research work carried on by or under the Government, to report whether any further measures should be taken to prevent overlapping, to increase economy and efficiency, and to promote the application of the results obtained'.
