TitleCopy Dale to the President of the American Philosophical Society
Date31 March 1941
DescriptionEvents have moved so quickly that they have already received the cheque only a fortnight after first hearing of the gift. He has written a letter to The Times describing the gift and giving a brief history of the American Philosophical Society. There will be no difficulty in finding a use for the money and it will be greatly appreciated both for its intrinsic value and as evidence of a desire to keep alive, through the maintenance of the Society's normal activities, the aim and spirit of true science, even during times of national crisis
