DescriptionSees no prospect of being able to provide Newton with a suitable position in which Newton could continue his collaboration with E P Abraham - comments on this - Medical Research Council suggested he approach University about post - should be pleased to recommend Newton for University research post but chance of obtaining post is practically nil - Newton has poor chance of being absorbed into University teaching department at senior level - comments on this and discusses possibility of Newton's obtaining post with pharmaceutical company in USA - hopes Newton will stay long enough to round off some of the work he is doing with Abraham - has asked Medical Research Council to renew Newton's grant for up to five years - has highest regard for Newton and his work and greatly regrets he can see little hope of retaining Newton in the department.
