TitleLetter from Howard Walter Florey to Michael Howard, Jonathan Cape Ltd, Bedord Square, London
Date11 November 1958
DescriptionThanks for portion of translation of Andre Maurois' biography of Alexander Fleming - cannot agree to use of his letter in way in which it has been used - asks if it is made clear in text that Fleming was given Oxford penicillin with full instructions for use, on condition that case formed one of Oxford series - asks if it is clear that in spite of this (Florey's) request Fleming did not introduce him to Sir Andrew Duncan, Minister of Supply, but went to him without further reference to Oxford and detailed to Duncan work being done in Oxford - cannot provide photograph for inclusion in the biography as he has not seen the manuscript.
