DescriptionQuotes cable from Dr Major authorising him to give information about Merck's penicillin work to Dr Maxwell of May and Baker - quotes extract from Maxwell's letter suggesting that verbatim account of Heatley's conversation at meeting to be arranged with F L Pyman of the Therapeutic Research Corporation, should be taken down - gives results of assays of the penicillin he brought from Merck - comments on these results and on use of one sample of penicillin to treat case of sulphonamide resistant streptococcal meningitis - chemists would be pleased to exchange material with Merck for comparison - asks if Merck were able to prepare new standard - quotes statement by Florey and Jennings concerning the "Oxford unit" of penicillin and comments on this - has not yet received culture of Wiesner's strain of Aspergillus clavatus - comments on this - comments on rumour he has heard that there is more penicillin in USA than the Americans know what to do with - comments on dosage of penicillin in serious cases.
