DescriptionAutograph letter signed by sender. The [Samuel] Parlby case is a hard one. Has put John Frederick William Herschel's letter and enclosures into the hands of Reid [Thomas Maclear's son-in-law]. Will arrange for the case to be brought before the Governor. Arrangements are being made to erect a statue of Sir George Grey in the Botanic Garden in front of the new library and museum. Is proud of his own sailor son [John Maclear].
