The Council of the Royal Society [of London] has asked John Frederick William Herschel to be the referee of John Thomas Graves's paper on logarithms, and John Frederick William Herschel disagrees with John Thomas Graves in a fundamental way. John Frederick William Herschel therefore asks John Thomas Graves to withdraw the paper and publish it elsewhere.
