Title | Letter from C [Charles] Pritchard, to Sir John [Frederick William Herschel] |
Creator | Pritchard; Charles (1808-1893); British astronomer |
Date | 23 June [no year] |
Description | It is on his conscience that he has not paid his respects to Sir John and Lady Herschel in London, for which he blames pressure of work. He thinks that Alick [Alexander Stewart Herschel] will keep alive the family name, with his 'depth & clearness of precocity'. Johnny [John Herschel] is satisfactory and neither has committed an act which Pritchard would consider to be reprehensible. He will take on any extra employment for them during the holidays, citing plant collecting and trigonometry. |
