Title | Letter from C [Charles] Pritchard, Clapham, to Sir John [Frederick William Herschel] |
Creator | Pritchard; Charles (1808-1893); British astronomer |
Date | 29 November [1844] |
Description | The question of whether Herschel's son's [William James Herschel] cold is whooping cough is in doubt. The ablest medical man there cannot decide. If Herschel will therefore give Pritchard authority to bring or send him home if the symptoms become obvious, 'it will be quite unnecessary to bring you from the stars'. The child is at present in Pritchard's study, working on the binomial theorem. |
