| Description | Herschel is glad to hear that they have returned from Anstey Cottage and comments on their behaviour, and that of children in general. He hopes they will write to say how they like Collingwood, and give family news. Slough looks dismal without them, and he wishes he could leave, but must stay another week. He has had the ugly brickwork under the telescope cased with cement and made to look like stone. He has written to Messrs. Drury & Humphreys to protest about the slow transmission of goods, and to find another wagon. Twenty or thirty packages will be delivered weekly, as much as they can manage to unpack. The servants' boxes were sent to the barge. He notes their trouble in finding coal. |
