DescriptionMiss [Elise] Rufenacht gives a good report of them. Herschel and the rest of the family will be back next Friday, having seen the fens of Norfolk, including Norwich and Yarmouth. He gives carriage instructions for Miss Rufenacht coming to town on that day and asks for their good behaviour. He asks them not to worry about the cows having eaten the mark at the end of their baseline and hopes they have calculated the triangulation properly, giving a diagram. If they were unsuccesful, they should try again. He did not see Willy [William James Herschel] while in town. He describes the Yarmouth home of [John] Bradshaw, President of the Parliament which condemned King Charles I, giving a sketch of the gothic ceiling pendant. He hopes their cockatoo has not escaped for good.
