John has also written to B [Balfour] Stewart who has replied unsatisfactorily, but who has sent sunspot papers. Dr. Deakin has given a favourable opinion of Mary's ailment [Mary Cornwallis Herschel]. He sends thanks to Alick [Alexander Stewart Herschel] for the spectroscope. |
