TitleLetter from D G [Daniel George] Robinson, Calcutta [Kolkata], J [John] Herschel, Mussoorie
CreatorRobinson; Daniel George (1826-1877); British army officer and telegraph engineer
Date5 June 1865
DescriptionHe thanks Herschel for sending back a draft instead of paying it into Robinson's bank. If he must sell the Lancaster [gun] he would rather it passed into Herschel's or Charlie Strahan's hands. Robinson is at the club. He considers his current work awful and he states his propositions for making it better, describing the administration, and looking after the lithographic and printing offices, the Surveyor General's drawing office, and others. It is uphill work, he states, but he must make the best of it.
