DescriptionHe thanks Herschel for a letter. It was a 'bad business' about the upsetting of a ballot box, he had thought precautions had been taken after a similar incident involving a Mr Wilcox. Wemyss asks if Sandie [Alexander] Mackinnon will go in for it again, noting who likely opposed him and saying that no word had ever been said against the family. He gives general news, including on billiard playing at the club, balls and races, noting that he has written to Sandie Mackinnon to say that he will come to vote for his personally, if he stands again.
