Description | Herschel's letter of the 10th has just been received and Macsween dreamt of a beautiful answer last night, but has now forgotten it. He teases Herschel over the spelling of his name and writes that he pities Miss Abbott in the formation of her ideas, the responsibilty for which will fall to Stallard, he thinks. Stallard's is the only marriage that will happen, Macsween believing he only went up [to Mussoorie] to get married. He has given White 'a severe wigging' about tickets and he lists those he has bought for 50 rupees. He is pleased that Herschel has made Miss Smyth's acquaintance. He notes the weather, his health, and asks to be remembered to Miss Mackinnon. |
