TitleLetter from Stanley Clarke, Edenfell, Landour, to 'My dear Herschel' [John Herschel]
CreatorClarke; Sir Stanley de Astel Calvert Clarke (d.1911); British army officer
Date9 December 1863
DescriptionHe asks if there is any cricket match at Dehra, as he is enthusiastic about it. He thinks there will not be too many pitches and lilywhites, and he would be happy to come down and play. He wonders if it is true that 200 men of the 26th Foot are coming, in which case there would be lots of cricket. He asks if Herschel is a cricketer and gives other news.
