DescriptionThe box of tobacco left yesterday and he encloses a receipt, the price having gone down. He asks if Herschel got his letter from Roorkee, if Herschel found his sponge, and if the money was enough to cover the gilder. The weather is peculiar, heavy rain for the past three days, so very cool. The place has changed and looks as if it had been besieged.
