Description | He received Herschel's packet yesterday as he was about to start for the farm. On referring to Sandy's pass book the cheque for the 350 was entered immediately after Herschel's own, making the total advance 1,000 rupees. All is now clear, although Herschel's word would have been quite sufficient. He trusts that Sandy followed practice in letters written freely between friends. Having burnt them after perusal, he knows that Sandy destroyed many before going on his sad expedition. Herschel's letters will be returned unread if there are any. He notes difficulties with Sandy's personal effects and he returns a letter. |
