DescriptionShe has delayed in replying to Herschel's letter to her husband, but the saddle he despatched has not arrived yet. She encloses the three shillings owed to Herschel for the transit charges. She heard from Mr Gordon a fortnight ago and relays his news, including worries about Mrs Gordon's health. She was glad to hear that he had obtained a Roorkee appointment. She asks for Herschel's forgiveness that her husband does not write, he is busy, including with the P H exam and is working hard to pass it, so as to enter the Staff Corps.
