| Description | He apologises for doubting her adventurous intentions now that she has completed her expedition. He intended no hint about the pipe but wondered if she would send one; he will use it and it will have an association. He forbids her to write again from Ootacamund and will not address her there again, unless he judges differently from her next letter. She will not be able to write from Bangalore unless he is grievously delayed. The weather is unsettled, so he cannot be sure. He asks her to get the 'Herald'; when she arrives at Bangalore. The weather has cooled. Mr B is experiencing his first separation from his wife, six weeks longer than Herschel's. |
