DescriptionHe writes a few lines after 27 hours by rail, on his way home [to England]. He does not know the interval between receiving his letter and his arrival. William will start again tomorrow and should be one day with [Alexander] Gordon, and will see others along the way. His steamer will sail on 14 July. He will reach home around 10 August and he will just miss Amelia's wedding. He may be detained in France and his people have advised him to try the Brindisi route. He asks them to write to him at the Hotel du Louvre in Paris.
