| Recipient | Stewart; Margaret (1755-1819); British |
| Date | 27 May 1806 |
| Description | He has returned safely fron his journey to Perthshire, giving a account of his 'adventures' [and see HSF/7/1/11]. Additional details include collecting 'roup money' at Moulin. After shopping in Perth he turned for home from Forncastle, making calls. He met Angus Mackintosh at the Inver ferry before carrying on to Logierait, where he describes the large and commodious new church of Mr. Menzies. Alexander told Menzies that his church must be the rallying point for serious people not disposed to follow the Haldanite missionaries. Wallace and others were dissatisfied with the Church order, and some of the notions of the missionaries, being very averse to joining them. He describes the journey home. He gives an account of his children: Charles has been feverish and the Doctor 'thinks it owing to worms', giving him medicine. Betsy Stewart will stay with them until her brother's return in Autumn.
