DescriptionIncludes manuscript and typescript notes and drafts for various sections of the unfinished book. Typescripts of chapters 3 and 4 are present, both labelled as 'Draft 3', with accompanying hand-drawn figures. Manuscript notes for the preface and introduction are also present, as well as for possible later chapters of the book. A reprint of 'Borehole Measurements in the Athabasca Glacier' by J C Savage and William Stanley Bryce Paterson is also in the file, accompanyed by some notes on its contents that Nye made.

NotesA note dated 16 April 2015 has been inserted into the file by Nye, explaining that in the course of writing the book he became distracted by some unsolved problems related to glaciers which delayed his own book. Nye also felt that Paterson's book covered the topics he was intending to write about already.
