DescriptionThe correspondence in the file relates to a report produced by Dr Thompson on differences between the practice of pharmacolocgy in the US and UK. It is evident from Dr Thompson's letter that Sir John Vane hosted him at the Wellcome Research Laboratories for a short period while he was doing research for the report. The letter also includes an update on Dr Thompson's career. There is also a reply to this letter from Vane in the file, where he touches on a point of disagreement over the use of animals in experimentation.
