DescriptionThe correspondence concerns the political situation in Poland and its effects on the scientists Maria Kopec and Andrew Szczeklik, both of whom support 'Solidarity', and Dr Hornstra's suggestion that eminent scientists of all nations should boycott certain meetings in support of persecuted scientists. Included are two letters and two circular letters from Dr Hornstra to Sir John Vane, a copy of Sir John Vane's response to Dr Hornstra's letters and a copy of a letter from Dr Salvador Moncada, which briefly describes the political situation in Central America.
