' Sir The Committee of the Royal Socigty appointed for that purpose, finding you have not delivered them a Copy of your last Year's Observtions, according to the Direction of her Majesty's most gracious Letter fo the twelfth of December 1710 ; do hereby demand your Compliance therewith : and now the six Months allowed you being elapsed, let you know, that they expect you will send your Observations to the Society's house in Crane Court, according to the meqaning of the said Letter. ' Superscribed: To the Reverend Mr John Flamsteed at the Royal Observatory at Greenwich.
' Memorandum: This is an exact Copy of a Letter which I delivered to Mr Flamsteed (July 7 1712) at the Royal Observatory : who returned this answer, that he would cause a Copy to be taken of his last year's Observations, and send them accordingly to the Royal Society by Michaelmas next.
