During long connection with the petroleum industry has published many important papers, e.g., the use of hypochlorites and of bauxite in the refining of crude oils, lubrication, the cracking process, etc. Was Managing Editor of the important work entitled 'Science of Petroleum' (1938, Oxford University Press).
