Citation | Rosenhead, Louis (Liverpool). D.Sc. (Leeds), Ph.D. (Cantab). Profesdor of Applied Mathematics in the University of Liverpool. Distinguished for his researches in applied mathematics, especially on problems of hydrodynamics. His papers contain new and substantial additions to knowledge in connection with the formation of vortices from a surface of discontinuity, streets of vortices, wakes and wind-tunnel interference. He has carried out important investigations on earth-tides and the variation of latitude. He has also collaborated with others on problems of boundary layer growth and the percolation of fluid through the ground, as well as on special problems in statical electricity and physical chemistry. |
