Distinguished for his researches on virus diseases of plants and particularly on the relationship of the virus with the insect vector. he has made important contributions to our knowledge of the behaviour of the virus in the insect's body and has perfected a technique for studying the relationship between insect and virus. He was the first to demonstrate in insects the genetical control of ability to transmit a virus. A list of 29 papers with references is appended. |
