Citation | LeFevre, Raymond James Wood (London). Reader in Chemistry, University College, London. Distingurished as an organic chemist who has developed a wide variety of subjects some with the aid of physical methods. Mention may be made of his stereochemical work on diphenyl compounds, on the reactivity of aromatic nitroso- and oxonium compounds, on molecular polarisation in the gas phase and in various types of solution, on molecular association, and on the solution by polarisation measurements of problems of stereochemical configuration, especially in relation to unsaturated nitrogen compounds such as diazo-, azo- and azoxy-compounds and anils. A list of papers is attached. |
