Citation | Waddinton, Conrad Hal (Cambridge). Fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge, and Lecturer in Zoology in the University of Cambridge. Distinguished for his studies in experimental embryology and genetics. He has carried out an extensive experimental investigation of development in birds and thrown much light on the essential factors involved ; for this work he was awarded the Albert Brachet Prize by the Royal Academy of Belgium. He has also made important contributions towards the analysis of development in amphibia and has, in collaboration with other workers, done much to establish and co-ordinate a wide range of morphological and biochemical data. He has taken an active part in the development of genetics in this country, and by his researches, has thrown light on the effect of hereditary factors on embryological development.
