CitationHenry, Thomas ANderson (London). Distinguished as an organic chemist. Has published about seventy papers dealing with naturally-occurring substances in the terpene, cyanogenetic glucoside and alkaloid grooups, or with chemotherapy of tropical diseases. Investigations for the League of Nations Commission on the better utilisation of alkaloids of cinchona bark and much work on the transformation products of quinine and quinidine. These have been tested biologically, and constitutional formulae assigned to all the isomerides, apo-bases, and the interesting substance, niquidine, produced in these reactions. Has also worked on antimonials and sulphanilamides. Is the author of a well-known book on ' Plant Alkaloids ' now on its third edition.
