Title | Letter from Frederick William Beechey, Board of Trade, to Charles Richard Weld |
Creator | Beechey; Frederick William (1796-1856); British naval officer and hydrographer |
Recipient | Weld; Charles Richard (1813-1869); English writer; historian; Royal Society Librarian |
Date | 28 December 1852 |
Description | Mr. Christie has no objection to Beechey having the use of the plate which he and Weld consulted on. Beechey has been authorised to direct Mr. Basire to give him the impressions he requires at Beechey's expense. He has written to Basire, who will probably contact Weld as the printer may not have the plate to hand. He asks if Weld would be good enough to send the plate to Basire. It is the one with lines representing the comparative rise of tide along the English and Irish coasts and its opposite, published in Philosophical Transactions 1836 part 2.
